episode 12, special guest Robin Collins on fine-tuning

This week we interviewed Prof. Robin Collins of Messiah College, probably the leading proponent today of the fine-tuning argument for the existence of God. He is the author of dozens of articles and chapters appearing in major publications, in the fields of philosophy of religion and philosophy of science. Below you can find some useful links pertaining to the episode and to Prof. Collins:

  1. Great show guys. It even distracted me from a Final Paper I was supposed to be writing. I was seriously considering bringing Robin Collins to Concordia University as a guest of the Theological Studies Undergraduate Student Association for our upcoming conference on science and theology. In the end we chose somebody else. Still, I was interested to hear how he presents his material when speaking as opposed to writing. The only problem with the recording is the noise which sometimes sounds something like laughter or maybe writing. Still, very good episode. I wonder if you guys would ever get names like Plantinga, Pruss or Craig on here - that would be really fascinating.

  2. Thanks Tyler! We do have to do a better job dealing with the background noise, no doubt. I'd love to have folks like Craig or Plantinga on, but I imagine we'll have to wait until we have a larger audience before that can happen. Anyway, I miss our forum discussion! What happened to it? Can we resume it somewhere else?

  3. Oh, the Forum is once again down, and I plan to put it back on its feet again sometime in the future, but in the meantime I've been so busy with my Blog that I have half a mind to simply use the forum as a resource for my blog, either using posts there to submit more polished posts on my blog, or simply using ideas presented there as inspiration to write further reflections later. I apologize that the forum went down. It is certainly difficult to manage when there are so few people interested and I am a more than full-time student. Don't worry, I'm still around, and so long as I am I am sure I'll give you plenty of opportunities to engage me in conversation in the future, when time permits.

I will be posting on this recent episode over the holidays when I am not so busy with school.
